Often, we hear from Palestinian Media Watch of hatred of Jews and of Israelis published in Palestinian Authority-controlled Arabic media. This week, we heard something different.
Musa Abu Dayya was enjoying himself on the coast of Jaffa, Israel when he was washed away by strong waves. “One of the Jewish bathers responded and hurried into the sea,” reported Al-Hayat A-Jadida. “The Jewish bather succeeded in grabbing Musa’s hand, but the force of the water sweeping him away was most strong. He was the last person who saw Musa, who disappeared into the sea.”
This terrible loss also represented a positive mention of an Israeli in the official, unfree, PA-controlled media. A positive sign? We hope so.
