95th anniversary

Ever since our 95th edition came out this week, thank-you’s have been lighting up our phones and elongating our e-mail queues. “Beautiful.” “We love it.” “What a terrific tribute to Miriam.” “So much fun!”

We don’t mention this to pat our collective backs. Even this self-critical bunch knows when they’ve cleared the hurdle or run their best race. No, we mention this because of you. The IJN could not have survived 95 years without its readers.

As the world ruminates about the future of print journalism, we treasure the timelessness of words on paper:their feel, scent, mobility, hiding places. Whenever you want, you can hold the memories again. The 95th is a tribute to the printed word — and to all of you.
