Obama awarded the Nobel - what a joke!
Breaking news. Guess who’s won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize?
If you guessed the world’s golden boy, he who can do no wrong, you guessed correctly.
Obama, winning the Nobel Peace Prize? Please!
Maybe one day he’ll be deserving, but today, just, what is it, not even ten months since he took office? And it’s not like he’s achieved some massive breakthrough in foreign policy or diplomacy in that short time. War continues in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Iran is on the brink of nuclear capability. Israel and Palestine certainly aren’t any closer to striking any deals.
And that’s just the Middle East. What about Darfur? What has Obama accomplished there? Violence against protesters is being perpetrated by Guinea’s security forces. Sure, we got the Obama administrations platitudes, but is peace being achieved?
If we needed any further confirmation that the Nobel Peace Prize has become a travesty, here it is. Maybe we should be grateful that at least it hasn’t been awarded to a lifelong terrorist. But that the award is politically motivated?
The head of Nobel’s committee states it straight out: “We would like to support what he is trying [our emphasis] to achieve.”
In this feel good, pop psychology world, apparantly it’s good enough just to try.
Ridiculous. Just plain ridiculous.

This piece said it better than any other I have seen on the topic. Pop psychology–feel good world. you got it ma’am! A travesty, indeed.
