William Krieger

William Krieger, 78, former JCC Ranch Camp director, passed away Feb. 10, 2017, in Albuquerque, NM. French-Lomas Mortuary made the funeral arrangements.

“He was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and devoted friend,” the family said.

Mr. Krieger was born in New York, NY, to the late Louis and Beatrice Krieger.

An accomplished therapist and scholar, he wrote an award-winning dissertation on the positive effects of summer camp.

Mr. Krieger, who had retired from his private counseling practice, was past president of the American Mental Health Counselors Assn. (1991-1923) as well as a national board member of the American Counseling Assn.

Chair of the National Academy of Clinical Counselors, he received the American Mental Health Counselor of the Year Award from the American Mental Health Counselors Assn.

Founder of the Enhancement Network and Enhancement Theory, Mr. Krieger was considered a Torah and Talmudic scholar.

Mr. Krieger is survived by his sisters Arline (Michael) Berkson and Audrey (David) Garrison; nephews David (Jennifer) Berkson and Jake (Stephanie) Garrison and nieces Patrice (Andrew) Steier and Lauren (Eric) Freedman; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
