Sherrie Porter

Sherrie Porter, 67, a native Denverite, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Sept. 29, 2016, in Fargo, North Dakota. The graveside service was held Oct. 2 at Gemelus Chesed Cemetery in Richfield, ND. Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapels made the arrangements.

“She was a very special, very caring person,” the family said.

Mrs. Porter was born on Denver’s West Side to the late Eli and Margaret Milstein.

She attended Colfax Elementary, Lake Junior, North High and CSU.

Sherrie met her future husband Gary Porter at a gathering at the DU Hillel House.

The couple moved to Fargo shortly after their marriage.

They were together for 46 years.

“Sherrie left behind many dear friends in Denver when she moved to Fargo,” the family said, “but they kept in close touch throughout the years.”

Mrs. Porter is survived by her husband Gary Porter; daughter Heidi (Dan) Geller; grandsons Andrew and Jordan; sisters Shirley Londer, Arlene Aron and Barbara Landow; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Martin Milstein.
