Helen Glazer

Helen Levin Glazer, a dedicated volunteer in Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Sept. 17, 2016, in Sioux City. She was 88.

“Helen was a devoted wife and mother,” the family said. “She loved to entertain and cook, was very active and loved to travel.

“She was a “fashionista” and made an impression on all her knew her.”

Mrs. Glazer was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Sioux City, where she grew up.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Upon her return to Sioux City, she met and married Milton L. Glazer.

They were together for 65 years.

Mrs. Glazer served on the boards of the Sioux City Art Center, United Way, Junior League, Congregation Beth Shalom and the Sioux City Country Club.

On Sept. 26, the Sioux City Council honored Mrs. Glazer for her community involvement and her impact on the city at large.

Mrs. Glazer will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Milton Glazer; children Jane (Harlan) Rips of Omaha, Jim (Liz) Glazer of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Bruce (Wendy) Glazer of Denver; and grandchildren Sara, Annie, Shayna, David and Madelyn.
